E-VISION: Improving the autonomy of people with vision impairment through computer vision and synthesised voice communication.

CONSORTIUM: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES INSTITUTE CERTH, TETRAGON SA, PRISMA ELECTRONICS SA, MASOUTIS SA, MAJOR DEVELOPMENT AGENCY THESSALONIKI SA- ORGANIZATION FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT.

The project’s scope is the development of a system that will assist and enhance the autonomy of people with reduced vision, enabling the identification of persons and objects. An array of sensors (camera, earphone etc.), properly embedded in the user’s glasses, will be connected to the computer vision system that will run on their mobile phone and will inform them about the visual content via voice communication.
